The Christian community is all about relationships. It is about strengthening our relationship with God and it is about strengthening our relationships with each other.
As we come together each week for community worship, we each bring with us the feelings and events from our daily lives that affect us on an emotional and spiritual level. Some will come rejoicing, some will come bringing various burdens. Together we look to the Creator of the universe and we meet with Him. We seek to praise Him with our singing and sharing. We seek to encourage each other also. Sometimes we weep together, we often laugh together and we are always changed by His presence with us.
If you are looking for relationships with others or to begin or strengthen a relationship with God, I encourage you to come share in one of our worship services. If you wonder how to have a relationship with God, please call me and I will be pleased to share with you about how you can have this relationship. If you already have a relationship with God, please come and taste of the journey we are having! Share with us your journey and let us strengthen each other.
Pastor Carl Ratcliff
The United Faith Community Church is a union of three separate churches, each having a rich heritage in the town of Valley. The Baptist Church was organized in May of 1878 in the railroad section house at Mercer. The church was incorporated in 1891 under the name of the Scandinavian Baptist Church of Valley. In 1892 a small band of the members moved into the town of Valley and established a church. The two groups reunited in town in 1917. The present building was constructed in 1918.
The Methodist Church was organized by a group of railroad workers in 1869 under the Methodist Episcopal faith. In 1887, a church building was erected in downtown Valley. The church moved from this building in 1969 to the church on Alexander Street (which had been home to both the Presbyterian Church and St. Mark's Lutheran Church) where it operated independantly until April of 2004.
The First Presbyterian Church of Valley was organized in 1891 and the church building was built in 1891. Times were difficult for all the churches in the depression era and during the 1930's talks were held to discuss the uniting of all three protestant churches in town. These talks culminated in the federation of the Baptist and Presbyterian churches in 1941. These two churches operated as the Baptist-Presbyterian Church until the formal merger of all three churches on March 6, 2005. Together the three churches represented 377 years of combined ministry at that time. We truly have a rich heritage in the past, yet we look forward to serving Christ in the future as United Faith Community Church. The church is fully affiliated with all three denominations, American Baptist Churches, the United Methodist Church, and Presbyterian Church (USA).

We hope you will be able to attend a worship service with us soon. If you don't currently have a home church, we invite you to consider becoming part of our family.
Our Sunday morning worship is at 10:15-11:30 and dress is business casual or just plain casual. Child care and children's church are provided during the worship service so all ages can enjoy the worship experience.
Please contact us any time, as we look forward to hearing from you.
